Crit Strike/Fortitude/Resist
This is a repost of info found on several different sites. Not sure who the original author was ~
Critical Resistance is a new stat added in 1.9. This stat lowers the possibility of a critical damage inflicted upon yourself by an enemy attack. You can raise this stat by enchanting your armor, using resistance scroll, or equipping wings.
Having 5 pieces +10 can give you +130 resistance, and +15 will give you +195.
Based on an experiment done by Korean fansite Inven.co.kr, with 1000 hits on each stat:
Critical resistance 0
128 Crit : 13.5%
200 Crit: 19.7%
473 Crit: 46.5%
604 Crit: 48.3%
Works like it works today in our servers. Hooah!
Now lets raise the stat to 130, which is equivalent to all pieces +10.
Critical resistance 130
128 Crit : 0%
200 Crit: 7.3%
473 Crit: 33.8%
604 Crit: 48.0%
Interesting isnt it? normally 128 crit would have 13.5% chance of crit, but with 130 resistance theres a 0% chance that it will hit. A thousand hits and not one crit.
On the other hand, 604 crit seems to almost ignore the critical resistance.
How does that work?
Critical Attack Chance - Critical Resistance Chance = Actual Critical Chance
Therefore, 604 - 130 = 474. almost 48% chance as shown. So thats how it works! (well, anyone would've guessed)
On a sidenote, magical critical chance works the same way, and the damage modifier is 1.5x (100 magical damage crit = 150 magical damage)
Every 10 points of strike fortitude is 1% reduction to crit damage
Strike Resist: Decreases the chance of you recieving a critical hit from your opponent.
Strike Fortitude: Decreases the damage recieved from a critical hit scored against you
Attack stat increases your minimum damage per hit while your Crit Strike increases your potential maximum damage
